再造版“越王勾践剑”，由湖北省博物馆授权监制，玉雕大师袁广如、袁霖父子，沈广隆剑铺第四代掌门人沈新培匠心创作而成。中国工艺美术大师袁广如坦言，“玉雕讲究神韵的展现”，“以和田玉再造天下第一剑，对我来说挑战性极大”。中国玉石雕艺术大师袁霖介绍，最困难的还是选料，由于剑较长，对玉料的要求极为苛刻。通长55.6厘米，意味着需要几吨大型和田玉为运料，不断切割、打磨制作，雕刻工程中出现水线、裂痕，就要舍弃，成型十分不易，成品率不到百分之十。加之剑身过长且需雕刻上百菱形纹，容易断裂，只有玉质足够细腻的和田玉才可进一步细琢。制作过程，断裂多次。最终推出和田玉白玉版、碧玉版、青玉版“越王勾践剑”，其中，和田白玉版目前仅做出一件。
